It's me

I'm Maria, 28 years old and live with my fiancé on a small farm. Even as a small child, I felt drawn to nature and animals and later wanted to live on a farm with lots of animals and ride horses all day long. It even “almost” worked. We bought this old remaining farm in 2017 and completely renovated the house. Our fathers were a great support to us, without them we would not have been able to complete the house renovation project.

Our everyday life is sweetened by 5 hens who provide us with fresh eggs. Our dog Oskar is also a real enrichment in our lives - it never gets boring with him!

In the summer I spend a lot of time in our garden. Even before we moved here, we planted a farm garden that gave us a bountiful harvest in the summer. From year to year, new beds and ideas are added, so that the garden becomes more and more beautiful. But as the saying goes, “Good things take a lot of time.” I can only agree! It will be many years before our house and garden are as we would like them to be. But we were aware of that and that's a good thing.

How it all began...

Even as a small child, I was always able to rearrange and rearrange my friends' children's rooms - it sometimes took a whole weekend, but it was always worth it! The feeling afterwards was simply indescribable for me.

I owe my love of farmhouse style to the lovely Joana Gaines. Seeing what she and Chip do with old houses sparked my ambition to make our house a place that inspires us and gives us a feeling of warmth and security.

So I went looking for farmhouse decorations and quickly reached my limits. “Unfortunately we don’t deliver to Germany” or items where the shipping costs were higher than the item itself drove me crazy.

Thus the vision of the German Farmhouse Shop was born. I wanted to give farmhouse lovers the opportunity to transform their home into an oasis of well-being in the farmhouse style.
